Student-led free program and mentorship information center.

As a current 10th grade student, I deeply felt the need for an organization devoted to sharing information for extracurricular opportunities for high school students. Many introductions that we often find online are heavily influenced by adults and admission counsellors instructing individuals how to brand themself, which I believe is harmful to both the program itself and the students as the fit is questionable.

With this in mind, I founded PeerLodge, a 3 stage project. I aim to first put together a database containing basic descriptions of those programs. After that, I plan to reach out to formal participants to receive first-hand information, suggestions and ideas about each specific program. Which in my opinion, is extremely helpful as this feedback came from real experiences. Lastly, when the PeerLodge network is fully expanded, I hope to run student-to-student mentorship programs. Some discussion topics could include Research experiences, Extracurricular discussions, college insights, athletics recruitment and social and psychological health. I hope to use this as a platform to enable students to both gain and give support to their peers, in regards to academics and individual growth.

If you feel interested, please check out PeerLodge’s Instagram account. I’m planning to launch a website in 2–3 weeks. All suggestions and help are hugely beneficial for me. Feel free to reach out at peerlodge@gmail.com.

Thanks for reading!!!
